The Givy Story: Where Clay Meets Creativity
My story starts in Welkom, Free State, a province rich with creativity, and it continues right here in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng. I come from a deeply creative lineage—a family of dedicated hand crafters.
My mom, Olive Baatjies, is a talented fashion designer and entrepreneur, and my little sister, Raylene, is a fine artist. For us, art isn’t just a hobby; it’s a language.
This passion for design is so strong, I’m still working toward completing my interior design course!

The entire Giventia’s Clay Creations journey is fueled by family support:
Olive Baatjies (Mentor & Creative Director): Olive is the heart, coach, and chief inspiration for us all. A successful fashion designer, she actively encourages Raylene and me to explore our creative spaces, launch our own lines, and practice the entrepreneurial spirit she embodies. She is the guiding hand that shapes our dreams.
Giventia (Founder & Chief Designer): As the elder sister, I transform my passion for interior design—texture, colour, and pattern—into elegant, one-of-a-kind African-themed earrings and unique accessories. Every colourful piece is handcrafted using my own equipment, fueled solely by unique ideas and a genuine love for creating.
Raylene (Fine Artist & Marketing): Raylene is the vibrant, market-savvy voice of the brand. A talented fine artist, she brings a youthful and aesthetic eye to our presentation, ensuring Giventia’s unique designs are beautifully marketed and connect with our family of customers.
The Juggling Act & The Joy
Like many women, I balance a corporate career and motherhood in the busy Johannesburg area. This journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but my true calling—the place my heart belongs—is in the arts. Clay became my creative anchor, my escape, and my joy.
